Las Vegas and the surrounding communities are serviced by the Clark County School District. Currently it is the 5th largest school district in the United States. Nearly 11,000 students were added in 2006 to the more than 290,000 students who attended in 2005. With such tremendous growth, roughly one school per month is built to accomodate most of the growth.
